Fifty Shades of Porn Copyright Suit Settled

The strange legal wrangling over a porn adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey has ended with porn company Smash settling with Universal (which owns the film rights to Meyer’s book) for an undisclosed sum.

Guess that fanfic-is-in-the-public domain defense wasn’t going to work after all.

In other good news, Emma Watson has tweeted a denial of the rumor (apparently started by hacker group Anonymous) that she’s slated to star in Universal’s Fifty Shades adaptation.

    • It was settled remarkably quickly, LOL!

Yes, I’m rather glad Ms. Watson hasn’t decided to tank her career quite this soon. I don’t think she’s much of an actress, frankly, but she’s young and there’s time to improve.
